Designing Hardware Components: Develop schematics, layout designs, and specifications for various hardware components such as printed circuit boards (PCBs), integrated circuits (ICs), processors, memory modules, power supplies, and other electronic components.


  • Circuit Design: Design and simulate analogue and digital circuits, including signal processing, power management, data communication, and control systems, using CAD tools like Altium, Cadence, or OrCAD.
  • PCB Layout: Create PCB layout designs, considering factors such as signal integrity, electromagnetic interference (EMI), thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • Prototype Development: Build and test prototypes to validate designs and identify areas for improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware engineers, software developers, and mechanical engineers.
  • Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to verify the functionality, performance, and reliability of hardware designs. Use lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers for testing and troubleshooting.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation including design specifications, test reports, and assembly instructions to support manufacturing, testing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other engineering teams and stakeholders to integrate hardware components into larger systems, and provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging technologies, tools, and best practices in hardware design and engineering, and apply new knowledge to improve design processes and outcomes.
